If seeing the sights from a motorcoach just isn’t your vibe, Contiki has been paying attention. The social travel tour company for 18- to 35-year-olds recently introduced two new small-group tours in Southeast Asia where younger travelers can traverse the region on Vespas, motorbikes, and tuk tuks.
The new trips, which are now bookable for departures starting in November 2026, are a direct response to what Contiki has been hearing from younger travelers. According to the company’s Voice of a Generation survey, 82% of respondents said they’re interested in more movement-driven, active trips. They care about not only where they’re going, but also how they’re getting there.
“Young travelers are moving beyond the Instagram ‘greatest hits’ and looking for trips that connect and immerse them in destinations,” says Tom O’Hara, head of brand at Contiki. “These new trips deliver exactly that…It’s about getting closer to the culture, the communities, and the moments that make travel unforgettable.”

On the eight-day Ride Cambodia tour, travelers will explore the country entirely by tuk tuk, the three-wheeled, open-air, motorized vehicles frequently used as taxis in the region. They’ll travel down dirt roads and across rice paddies, visiting well-known spots like the temples of Siem Reap and the streets of Phnom Penh as well as communities far off the beaten path.
Trip highlights include a sunrise viewing at Angkor Wat, overnight homestays in Kampong Khleang on Tonle Sap lake and Sambor Prei Kuk, and visits to Tuol Sleng Prison and Choeng Ek in Phnom Penh. Tour groups are capped at 14 travelers, and prices start at $1,695.
On the Ride Vietnam tour, travelers will spend six days zipping across Central Vietnam on the back of Vespas and motorbikes driven by expert local drivers. An evening Vespa food tour travels the lantern-lit streets of Hoi An, a motorbike tour takes in Da Nang’s street food scene, and a full-day ride across the Hai Van Pass includes stops at freshwater springs along the way. Prices start at $1,200, and the tour is limited to a maximum of 16 travelers.
