Adventures by Disney Debuts New 2024 Trips for Kids and Adults

Adventures by Disney's 2024 batch of new tours includes adventures in Colombia, Canada, and New Zealand.

Disney’s tour company Adventures by Disney has announced new trips for 2024. Among the offerings are a tour inspired by the movie Encanto, another celebrating the outdoors in Nova Scotia, and a bucket-list-worthy 12-day New Zealand itinerary. Here’s a rundown of the new trips.

Colombia Land Adventure

This Encanto-inspired adventure is an eight-day, seven-night tour that visits Bogotá, Colombia’s coffee-growing region, and coastal Cartagena.

The tour starts in the capital city of Bogotá for a welcome dinner, an arepa-making class, and a market tour. The group then goes to Armenia, the center of Colombia’s coffee region. Here you’ll visit a local coffee farm and get insight into growing, harvesting, and making coffee beans. There’s also a hike though Cocora Valley and a walking tour of Salento, a small town known for its scenery and colorful architecture. In Cartagena on Colombia’s Caribbean coast, there’s a culinary adventure, a forest hike to see cotton-top tamarins, a visit to a 16th-century fort, and the chance to snorkel in the crystal blue waters. 

The minimum age for travelers on this trip is five, and the suggested age is eight and up. There are also adult-exclusive departures for this tour. 

Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island Land Adventure

This eight-day, seven-night tour takes travelers through the coastal stretch of the Canadian Maritime Provinces.

The tour starts on Prince Edward Island, where guests learn about the process of making maple syrup, visit a lighthouse, and head to Avonlea Village, a replica of the community from “Anne of Green Gables.” In New Brunswick guests try out lobster fishing in Shediac Bay, take a guided tour of the exposed ocean floor of the Bay of Fundy, and visit the famed Hopewell Rocks. The trip ends in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with a visit to a cultural center to learn about the Mi’kmaw people’s culture and traditions, and a cruise on a schooner to see Halifax’s harbor by water.

The minimum age of the trip is five, and the recommended age is six and up. Kid-friendly activities include a Junior Adventurer Dinner and Movie Nights, plus activities like a wildlife scavenger hunt. There are also some adult-exclusive departures. 

New Zealand Land Adventure

Adventures by Disney’s 12-day, 11-night New Zealand tour takes guests to Auckland, Rotorua, Christchurch, Greymouth, Franz Josef, Wanaka, and Queenstown. 

The tour starts in Auckland, where guests take a cooking class, sail aboard an America’s Cup Yacht through Auckland’s Waitmatā Harbour, and visit the Auckland Zoo after hours to get a glimpse of the wildlife of New Zealand. In Waitomo, adventurers get a chance to see the famous glow worms that illuminate the underground caves. In Rotorua, there’s a visit to the National Kiwi Bird Hatchery and a thrilling zip line ride through the forest canopy.

On the South Island, there are city tours, boat cruises, train rides, and a stay at the Te Waonui Forest Retreat in Franz Josef. The trip ends with a scenic drive to Wanaka New Zealand, a guided jet boat tour through the Wahipounamu World Heritage area, a bike ride, and an adult wine cave tour and tasting.

This trip has a minimum suggested age of eight and a recommended minimum age of 10. There are also some adult-exclusive departures.
