Calling all adventurous families looking for the trip of a lifetime: tour outfitter Abercrombie & Kent has a Kids Sail Free deal plus other discounts on its Antarctica, South Georgia & the Falkland Islands: Holiday Voyage expedition cruise.

The sailing departs on December 20, 2023, and returns on January 6, 2024. It’s a fully immersive and completely unplugged approach to travel, and one that’s on a tour that’s specifically kid-friendly–something that sets it apart from most Antarctica expedition cruises. Hands-on activities include a kids-only scavenger hunt, photo-coaching workshops for teens, and a kids-only Zodiac lesson with naturalist guides.

The children-sail-free deal is for families booking suites, and the minimum age for kids is seven. There’s also a 50% off single supplement offer good for categories 1-3 staterooms, as well as a $1,500 air credit per person when airfare is booked through Abercrombie & Kent.

TourScoop Takeaway

This is a pricey cruise but a priceless experience, and the fact that so many of the activities are geared to kids (though there’s plenty for adults as well) makes it even more exceptional. There’s going to be a small window of people for whom this deal is a perfect fit: family travelers looking for a luxury expedition cruise and are willing to keep the kids out of school a little longer than most school breaks. That said, if this is the once-in-a-lifetime family experience you’ve been dreaming about, the kids sail free offer certainly sweetens the deal.
