Intrepid Travel has a longstanding reputation as an adventure-oriented tour company with a dedication to more sustainable travel. But it was only a year and a half ago that it expanded into the premium space with its Intrepid Premium collection; higher-end, locally led tours featuring signature stays, exclusive experiences, and private transportation. And now, the company has announced 10 new premium tours, bringing the Premium range to 97 trips.
Matt Berna, Intrepid’s North America president, notes that these premium trips still offer excellent value and “are designed to minimize travelers’ environmental footprint and maximize their positive impact for local communities.”
Intrepid now has Premium itineraries in 42 countries on five continents. New destinations include Sicily, Patagonia, Alaska, and Costa Rica. Special offerings on these trips include stays in countryside estates and jungle eco-lodges, and activities like scenic dome-car rail journeys and cooking classes with locals.
Starting prices for the new tours range from $3,060 (for the 8-day Premium Turkey tour) to $8,020 (for the 10-day Premium Alaska tour).
