Intrepid Travel—the B-Corp-certified tour company with a focus on responsible travel and authentic local experiences—has announced that in 2023, it will offer more than 80 new offerings. That includes new tours, new destinations, and new activities offered on existing itineraries.
According to Intrepid, among the new offerings are “more ethical wildlife adventures, an increase in activities supporting Indigenous communities and female-run businesses.” New tours include:
- Vanuatu Expedition: Land Diving Festival: A new five-day tour in the South Pacific destination with a focus on the cultural practices of the Indigenous peoples of Pentecost Island, specifically the tradition of land diving–which is widely considered to be the original form of bungee jumping. (from USD $2,382 per person)
- Pakistan Expedition: Starting this year, Intrepid is adding Pakistan to its tour destinations. The 15-day Pakistan Expedition goes deep on the history, present, and future of the country and includes visits to remote mountain villages and female-led community projects(from USD $5,100 per person).
- Rwanda Gorilla Naming Ceremony & Uganda: This new trip to Uganda includes a traditional naming ceremony for the baby gorillas born in the country’s Volcanoes National Park in the last year. There’s also trekking, game drives, and a boat cruise on this wildlife-focused nine-day trip.

These new offerings bring exceptional experiences to both existing itineraries and new tours, and support local tourism not as an afterthought but as a primary focus. Intrepid is doing sustainability right, and is doing it in a way that offers experiences that would otherwise not be possible for most people. It’s combining responsibility and access in a pretty inspiring way.
