If you’re someone who believes the journey is just as meaningful as the destination, G Adventures has some exciting news for you. The popular travel company has just launched its brand-new Rail Collection, a collection of 60 rail-focused trips spanning 20 countries that puts the richness of train travel front and center.

Whether you’re hopping on a bullet train in Japan, gliding to night markets in Vietnam, or rolling through the scenic countryside of Italy, these new train trips offer a unique alternative to rushed airports and flyover experiences. The company isn’t targeting just one kind of traveler, either. From trips for independent explorers (“Solo-ish”) to upscale itineraries (“Geluxe”) for those who like a little more comfort, the new Rail Collection spans all of the company’s most popular trip styles.

Here’s a taste of what’s on track:

  • Back Roads of Japan: Zip around Japan on the iconic Shinkansen, then slow it down with homestays in Hagi, a traditional fishing town. Expect fish markets, “washi” paper making experiences, and stellar views (11 days from $4,749).
  • Highlights of Poland: This journey takes you from Warsaw to Wroclaw by regional rail, with plenty of postcard-worthy architecture along the way (10 days from $1,949).
  • Solo-ish China: High-speed bullet trains whisk you across China from Shanghai to Beijing with dumpling-making classes and sightseeing in between (11 days from $2,399).
  • Highlights of Italy: This ride through Rome, Florence, and Venice also makes time for wine in Montepulciano and a community-led tour through Rome’s immigrant neighborhoods (9 days from $2,149).

The full collection is open for bookings now, with trips departing in 2025. You can explore the full list of trips at gadventures.com/rail-collection.
